Daan Luining

Daan Luining from the Netherlands has been involved in the evolution of cultivated meat since its very earliest stages, having worked on the first lab-grown hamburger to be cooked and eaten during a news conference, with Maastricht University Professor Mark Post back in 2013. Focusing on optimizing the cell growth and density of the patty using micro carriers, Daan went on to found cultivated meat startup Meatable with Krijn De Nood in 2018.

Meatable is on a mission to satisfy the world’s appetite for meat without harming people, animals or the planet. They are soon to launch their port sausage, and are currently building the world’s first Future of Meat innovation center in Singapore to power hybrid meat development.
